It is important to keep hold of the certificates as they help future Electricians see what work has been done to the property and when. It will also show the results of the Electrical Testing. This will provide a basis for any further electrical testing or exploratory work needed thus saving your electrician time, and you money
The EIC will indicate whether the electrical work that has been carried out is: New, an Addition or an Alteration. You should be provided an EIC under the following circumstances: A complete rewire, A new circuit added or a new consumer unit fitted. When a new consumer unit is fitted the Electrician must test every circuit that is connected to it.
You should always use an local Electrician that is registered with a governing body such as Napit like JW Burlinson
